In all of New Brunswick 48% of people live in a rural area. In Moncton most people live in rural areas because the farming is a really good industry there and it makes a lot of money. However there are some people who are moving to to the cities because of the work and jobs that are available, these jobs also pay good because the urban areas are looking to expand their population. In the city of Moncton many people live along the Petitcodiac River that runs right though the city, meaning they are in a liner settlement pattern but around the river it is disputed all over the place. In a small town like Moncton most people are moving to farming land because it is one of very few places in New Brunswick that have good soil that is able to support farming, the people move to where there is money and the money is in farming.
